20 – Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge

Due to booking our trip to Peru for September 2018 my brother thought that climbing Snowdon wasn’t enough preparation for myself and Tim. He kindly suggested in doing this challenge as well.

Yes I understand my brother is TECHNICALLY right, I just wondered why he had to butt his big nose into my challenges. However he is doing it with us and some of his friends so I feel he is paying his due.

We are planning on completing this in June 2018.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres), usually in this order, and in under 12 hours. These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks route is 24-miles long, and includes 5,200ft (1,585m) of ascent.
